J65 @ Hotel Jen Tanglin: Different Day of the Week, Different Themed Dinner Buffet

J65 @ Hotel Jen Tanglin

Earlier this month, J65 @ Hotel Jen Tanglin (by Shangri-La) rolled out a very diverse buffet programme – five different themed buffet spreads, within any given week. It is like a restaurant with rotating menu throughout the week; refreshing, and makes a closely-spaced return trip all that more plausible.

Satay

Rojak Station

Chicken Rice, Char Siew Rice Station

Durian Penyat

Kick-start the week on Sundays & Mondays with the customary International Buffet, a theme for the fickle-minded true-blue foodies who relish in every type of cuisine. From Baked Whole Norwegian Salmon, to local treats of Chicken Satay & Rojak Bar, to Japanese sushi and sashimi, it promises to be a culinary trip around the world.

Kueh Pie Tee

Laksa Station

Laksa

Because some say Tuesdays are the hardest day of the week, it is only apt for some vibrancy in our lives. That is when the Colours of Asia theme makes its way into your day through your taste bud, with local and regional delights like Seafood Tom Yum Goong, Tandoori Chicken, Crab and Prawn, and Bak Kut Teh.

Baked Whole Norwegian Salmon

Dessert Counter

Celebrate hump day Wednesdays, and for making it through mid-week with Lobster Rock ‘n’ Roll! This is arguably the most value-for-money buffet line of the week; the best day to stuff yourself silly with Lobster Roll, Lobster Paella, Singapore Lobster Laksa, and Baked Lobster Thermidor (always reminds me of The Sims), just to name a few! I am certain that on this day, the non-lobster items in the buffet line will feel as left out and disregarded as a middle child.

Ribs

Pork Knuckles

Ever experienced inhaling the oddly satisfying and unmistakable smell of barbecue when you were walking through your neighbourhood on your way home and wished it was your dinner? Live Barbecue Thursdays can make your wish come true. Slipper Lobster, Seabass, Prawns & Squids, Roasted Suckling Pig, Roasted Pork Belly, and Korean Beef Ribs and Pork Belly are some of the sinful yet worthwhile meats and crustaceans you can fill your senses and stomach with.

DX7A1601

Seafood on Ice

And of course, Fridays & Saturdays are for friyays and going cray-cray, and so Seafood Mania is only fitting. Once you have come to terms with the fact that your cholesterol count for the month (or maybe the next as well) will hit the ceiling after this meal, you can start getting your hands dirty with Fresh Oysters, Lobsters, Singapore Chilli Crabs, Prawns, Mussels, Clams, and King Alaskan Crabs on Ice. What’s a weekend without some guilt to end it off with?
