Celebrate the festive season with a slew of festive offerings from InterContinental Robertson Quay, the second and most recent InterContinental property in Singapore.
[Festive Meal] Publico Ristorante, the hotel’s flagship Italian dining concept, has available from 20 – 26 December 2018 (6pm onwards) a la carte festive specials such as Josper Grilled Pork Secreto and Ricotto & Spinach Raviolo with shaved fresh black truffle.
[Festive Meal] Marcello Bar & Dining, a pair-up between Publico Deli and Marcello Bar, offers what we thought was one of the best few top-notch Roast Beefs this Christmas (the contenders this year were especially strong, we felt). The concept here encourages festive gathering, and therefore serves up a family-style table of prix fixed menu. It is available throughout December 2018 (advanced booking of 4 working days required), and is $50++/person for a minimum of 15 persons. The family style table also sees, amongst others, Rosemary Baked Camembert & Crostini, Glazed Winter Vegetables, and Sticky Date Pudding with butterscotch sauce.

[Festive Takeaway] “Christmas of Yesteryear” is the thread that runs across InterContinental Singapore’s yuletide adventure this Christmas. Essentially, expect adorable visuals and creations that will tug at one’s heartstrings. To prove the point, Santa’s Teddy ($78) as photographed above is not just a centrepiece; it is a festive cake of Earl Grey pound cake, and raspberry feuilletine base, with white lemon meringue mousse, wild berries jam, and coconut shavings. In line with healthy-living, InterContinental has also created Memories of Childhood (1kg) ($78), a yule log made of sugar-free chocolate mousse, cacao crumble, vanilla pear compote, and passion fruit jelly.
Festive takeaways are available from 23 November – 25 December 2018 at the Festive Shoppe located at the entrance of the hotel from Bugis Junction and at www.intercontinentalshoppe.sg (5% discount). From 14 – 16 December 2018, online orders are entitled up to an additional 20% discount.
[Festive Buffet/Meal] Ash & Elm, a European dining concept that prides itself with sourcing the finest produce from around the world, is set to have diners indulge in lavish Christmas feasts including Charcoal-Grilled Beef Tenderloin with port wine sauce, Roasted Tom Turkey with citrus fruits, and Honey Ham & Spinach Flatbread.
Semi-buffet lunch is available throughout December 2018 (save for Sundays, and Christmas Eve & Day) from 12pm – 3pm at $38++/$48++. A la carte dinner is served throughout December 2018 (save for Christmas Eve) from 6pm – 10.30pm. Champagne brunch (with unlimited servings of premium seafood on ice, caviar, and pan-fried foie gras, to name a few) happens every Sunday throughout December 2018. More details can be found here.
CROWNE PLAZA CHANGI AIRPORT
[Festive Takeaway] In our books, the Har Cheong Turkey (6kg) ($168+) from Crowne Plaza Changi Airport is crowned the best unconventional turkey this Christmas. Inspired by Har Cheong Gai (prawn paste chicken), the turkey is marinated for 24 hours with prawn paste and Chinese yellow rice wine, before being roasted for 2 hours. This results in the juiciest turkey we’ve had; one that is at risk of being mistaken as a chicken (we may be exaggerating). For brownie point, it comes with house-made truffle brown sauce and seasonal greens. We are definitely thinking of getting one for our own Christmas party. Other perennial festive favourites include BBQ Roasted Beef Ribs (2kg) ($138+), Honey-Glazed Boneless Ham (2.2kg) ($140+), and Matcha Goma Yule Log (75+). Orders may be placed from 1 – 31 December 2018 through +65 6823 5367 or their online shop here (up to 29% discount for a limited time).
[Festive Buffet] Throughout December 2018, Azur invites guests to enjoy an extensive buffet line of Herb Crusted Beef Ribeye, Pork Belly, Pan-Seared Red Snapper, Har Cheong Gai (we know from their turkey that they do this really well), and on Christmas Day itself, Traditional Roasted Turkey, US Prime Ribs (!), and Truffle Risotto prepared a la minute. If you are flying in/out of Changi Airport, we cannot think of a better Christmas meal. The buffet ranges from $58++ to $98++ (enjoy 25% discount when reserved and pre-paid before 15 December 2018).

[Festive Takeaway] Owing to its popularity, Tandoori Turkey (4.5kg – 5kg) ($120) is making a return this Christmas. The Christmas bird is treated with cinnamon, cloves, coriander, cumin, and tumeric, before being roasted to lock in the flavours. If celebrating traditionally is preferred, Classic Chocolate Yule Log (900g – 1kg) ($70) is available as a festive takeaway as well.
[Festive Buffet] Christmas lunch and dinner buffet are available at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre. Taking centre stage are dishes like Roasted Lamb Leg with rosemary jus and garlic confit, Maine Lobsters, while not forgetting local delights like Singapore Chilli Crab. Lunch is available from 12pm – 2.30pm, and dinner is available from 6.30pm – 10pm. They are priced at $68++ to $98++.

[Festive Takeaway] Christmas gatherings are hardly the same without a turkey. This year, Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium has created yet another local-inspired turkey – Assam Turkey ($128), marinated with ginger flower and tamarind, and serve with achar and spicy gravy. Other meaty offerings include Slow-Baked Grain-Fed Australian Beef Ribeye ($88) with truffle jus, and Slow-Roasted Australian Leg of Lamb ($138) with provence herbs, thyme jus, and seasonal vegetables. Christmas Packages ($278) are also available, typically comprising a turkey, ham/salmon, yule log cake, and a bottle of house wine. Orders can be made from 1 November – 26 December 2018 through their online shop.
[Festive Buffet] Buffet dinner at Atrium Restaurant is priced between $88++ to $98++. One can expect the buffet spread to include the likes of Roast Tom Turkey marinated with fresh herbs and spices, and chestnut stuffing, and Slow-Roasted Australian Beef Ribeye Fillet, and Baby Lobsters. Of course, no Christmas meal will be completed with a yule log cake – Atrium Restaurant’s very own signature Chocolate and Banana Log Cake.
HOTEL INDIGO SINGAPORE KATONG
If you are looking for a modern take of Christmas, Hotel Indigo could be your go-to, as its rendition of the festive season this year continues to stay true to its concept of a Peranakan hotel.
[Festive Takeaway] Running from 1 – 25 December 2018, the theme of the festive goodies this Christmas pays homage to Katong’s Peranakan roots with Turkey Breast “Assam Curry” ($87+) that is slow-baked with tamarind and homemade rempah and creamy curry sauce, Iberico Pork Ribs ($98+, 10 ribs), first glazed with homemade Kecap Manis (Indonesian style sweet sauce) then slow-roasted to retain the moisture in the meat, and Beef Rendang (2kg) ($168+), stewed in a rich gravy of spices, gula melaka, and coconut milk. There cannot be Peranakan without Chendol (although it is well noted that Chendol is not created by them (and neither is it by Singaporean – just got to sneak this in)) – here, in the form of Chendol Log Cake (1kg) (59+).
[Festive Meal] Baba Chews‘ Saturday brunch (11am – 3pm) is jazzed up with festive creations like Assam Curry Turkey Fricassee ($22++) and quintessential brunch signatures like Egg & Avocado Toast ($16++). On Sundays, Baba Chews is also opened for buffet brunch ($42++) from 11am – 3pm, incluing hot mains cooked a la minute, such as Turkey Breast Assam Curry, Har Cheong Gai with Buah Keluak Waffle, and more.
