English High Tea Set :: $38++/2pax
Yes you heard it right. Tea Bar @ M Hotel Singapore is now offering their English High Tea Set at almost half the price – it’s madness! Until the end of October 2015 (talks are still ongoing as to whether it will be further extended – I surely hope so), the set is only $38++/2pax instead of the usual $66++. I say it’s a steal considering the reasonable standard. No don’t go there expecting to feast like many other hotels’ afternoon tea set. It is not as filling as some other tea sets I have had, nor are the ingredients exceptionally premium. But if someone asks for a recommendation of an affordable hotel tea set, this would be it. The set comes with the following, with refillable house selection of tea / coffee.
3-tier Ferris Wheel Display.
The English High Tea Set comes with a small Singapore Flyer (they call it the 3-tier Ferris Wheel) lined with bite-sized sandwiches, gourmet canapés, scones and the last tier, assorted sweet pastries.
Signature Savoury Chicken Pie & Curry Puff.
It also comes with this Savoury Chicken Pie and Curry Puff – they were da bomb for me.The puff was not too oily, the pastry light, and each bite was packed with so much flavour and richness. It was definitely one of the best puffs for me in recent times, and apparently these were made with a unique recipe by their resident aged Chef. I say, long live, Chef! There is only one of each, so fight your dining companion for them!
Overall, the offer has certainly made the English High Tea Set here at M Hotel Singapore a value-for-money weekend escapade. Heck, even a weekday one sounds good for me. It is just, something very different when you take a stroll around Tanjong Pagar on a Sunday. It is so quiet that even though all buildings still stand tall and same, it feels all so oddly unfamiliar and pleasantly different.
