From now until 8 September 2014, a luxurious and exquisite mooncake collection comprising traditional mooncakes, assorted mini snowskin mooncakes, and an original, macarons – mooncake-style, will be up for indulgence. Traditional mooncakes ranges at about $50+/box of 4, while assorted mini snowskin mooncakes are at $54.50+/box of 8.
Macaron Lunar ($19+/box of 6), better known by me as Mooncake Macarons, literally made me smile after a bite because this original creation by Chef Pang is brilliant – it really tasted like mooncakes. A marriage of classic French pastry and treasured Chinese tradition finds the consistent-as-always macaron shells sandwiching smooth and sweet white lotus paste, with a salted egg yolk at the core of it all. These macarons are as sweet as before, for sure. Some can’t handle it; but if you are like me, love macarons, and particularly Antoinette’s, and have had enough of traditional mooncakes (or well just a cheaper alternative of getting the mooncake flavour), you would love this like I did.
Further, you get a 20% discount when you pay with a DBS card. That makes these macarons about $2.50 a pop, similar to the usual ones. Hell yeah. (Promotion applies to all mooncakes purchase as well.)
