Are you an ice-cream person, or are you an ice-cream person? Duh.
Are you a coffee person or a tea person? I’m a cafe-coffee person, and a tea-at-home person.
If you’re a fan of both ice cream and coffee, from now till 14th November 2013, you can indulge in the best of both worlds, thanks to the kind people at Häagen-Dazs and illyCaffe. In conjunction with the launch of their latest premium ice cream flavor, Chocolate Hazelnut Brittle, Häagen-Dazs has invited illyCaffe Barista Trainer for the Asia Pacific region, Italian Eduardo Vastolo to contrive 3 Coffee Creations.
These Coffee Creations are specially crafted and infused with the new Chocolate Hazelnut Brittle ice cream, in one way or another. I’ve had a go at them, and fell immediately in love with the Macchiata Brittle ($13.90). A steaming shot of espresso, topped with Cappuccino Truffle and Chocolate Hazelnut Brittle ice cream, mixed with hot and cold frothy milk, the definition of a well-balanced hot + cold, sweet + bitter. Hands down, my favorite of the 3.
The other two creations are Cafe Brittle Sunrise ($12.90), this time only topped with the ice cream and frothy milk, less sophisticated, and the Chocolate Hazelnut Iced Latte ($11.90), where the ice cream is taken and blended with a double shot of espresso, complete with frothy milk and whipped cream, offering a more intense coffee flavor.

You ought to know too, as I’ve heard from the professional’s mouth, first-hand, that a shot of illyCaffe’s espresso contains the same amount of caffeine as a can of coke. Hence contrary to popular belief, you can actually still head to bed without a problem, after a shot or two of illyCaffe’s espresso. No excuses to not drink coffee in the evening anymore! You have slightly more than a week to have a taste of heaven, don’t miss it.
For a limited time, Chocolate Hazelnut Brittle is selling in 100ml pack at $5.50 and in 500ml pints at $14.90. Next to Belgian Chocolate, this is my favorite Häagen-Dazs flavor.
